The view from my office.

I stayed under the back door awning to avoid getting sleet and snow on my camera, so it's not the most artsy shot. But this was the view behind my office yesterday.

All the branches had that coated-with-ice look. It's continuing today and will take a while to melt, I believe.

Great picture. How much countryside do you have around where you live? So far in our region it's been very warm. It finally started to cool off last night, but yesterday afternoon I was outside with shorts and a t-shirt on.

I have a pretty nice wooded area behind my home - I was a little worried about trees that weren't on my property with the icing but so far they are holding up OK.

The photo is behind my day-job office. There's a dirt alley there but also a fairly nice green belt between us and a railroad track. Then beyond that it's a residential neighborhood so there are quite a few trees. All in all it's a fairly green area.

I don't miss Midwest winters (or summers, or falls, or even springs), but seeing that picture reminded me of the beauty harsh weather can sometimes create. Ice coated naked trees, glistening as the sun peeks from behind a cloud, never failed to make me pause.

Still a nice view--at least you were inside!

Charles' comment reminded me of my brother. He lives near Phoenix and every winter he makes sure to call to let me know he's sitting outside by the pool enjoying the warm evening. :)

The view outside my window looks a lot like this picture. Brrr...
