There is nothing like a meme (My Me-Me)

OK, Tammi at Drawing on Words , who has some cool new Wordpress diggs, tagged me for this game:

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.

2. Each player starts
with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

3. People who are tagged need to
write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.

4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Here are my eight:

1. I am working to purge myself of all superstition.

2. I keep a statuette of a figure called a Mum-Ra from the Archie McPhee catalog beside my computer for luck.

3. I met my wife on the job, meaning one of us had to leave the organization due to company policy once we were wed. Our boss at the time got mad when she tendered her resignation.

4. I was born when my parents were older, and the impact of that fact on my life is not insignificant.

5. I can sometimes be opinionated and passionate. (Could you tell?)

6. I wrote a college paper on detective fiction and got a pretty good grade.

7. I have way too much stuff on my DVR.

8. I follow the political world more closely than I once did. I know what the Enterprise Institute is, for example. Still, one of my best sources for analysis is "The Daily Show."

Sid, very interesting revelations. I'll have to work on this sometime today!

Love 1 and 2.

Hey, Sid. I'll give this some thought as well--maybe I will channel Cliff--and post from work.

Hum, what if I want to tag the same 8 you tagged? Is that illegal?

I guess we'll have to get a ruling from the judges on that. It probably won't grind the blogosphere to a halt or anything.

OK,Mannix. I'll spill. Just tell me, was it Gramlich who dropped the dime on me? Here goes, in no particular order:
1: I fight battles every day.
2: My first "adult" dream involved Julie Newmar as Catwoman.
3: I am secretly thrilled that my books are available in used book stores in Sydney, Australia.
4. I love Robert Mitchum movies.
5. I named mY border collie after Bobby the Mitch.
6. I exchange emails with Sid Williams probably 50 times more than anyone else. Including Elvis.
7. I am listening to a CD of Cat Stevens. (Well, its not HIS, I mean a Cat Stevens CD.)
8. I stay up late to avoid sleep, because in sleep I am no longer fighting battles.

Gotta go, the Riddler just escaped!

Sidney,
This was a pain in the @ss wasn't it? But it's a nice exercise. I'm curious about the superstitions.

I will try over the weekend to do this:)

Tammi, nothing really exciting on the superstition front. I'm not scared of ghosts or anything. I just try to be aware of things like questionable cause fallacies - just because a guy breaks a chain letter and then gets hurt in a car accident doesn't mean he was hurt because the chain letter had any magical power.

Etain, it's just for fun so whenever you can. Thanks for playing.
