I like they way You re-view the work, No details but the whole picture of the story is mediated and also what keeps the story together. Smooth and beautiful!
I've not had the chance to read this, yet. I saw the movie and felt (as I usually do with movies based on novels) I was missing something bigger.
I did find the father's unwavering pinpoint focus on his son's survival quite moving. As disturbing as his actions may have been, there is a beauty in his willingness to do anything for his child--at the cost of his soul, and even his connection to his kid.

Was just discussing Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian with one of my sisters yesterday. At one point, she flung it to the wall in disgust.
